About the company

By DEBORAH KURVACH/Messenger Post Correspondent

GORHAM - Chrisanntha Construction Corp. is a commercial construction firm with headquarters on Dewey Avenue in the hamlet of Gorham.

It is frequently confused with its sister companies, which all sprang from the Niels Iversen Lumber Company. The "Iversen family" of companies includes:

Niels Iversen Lumber Company Inc., which was founded in 1907 and continues to sell hardware and building supplies.

Iversen Construction Corporation, which builds industrial, commercial and institutional buildings. Iversen Construction typically builds schools or other "hard bid" projects in which the building design is already completed.

Chrisanntha Construction Corp. is a design/build firm, meaning it handles all aspect of design and construction, including permits.

Chrisanntha Inc. is a real estate development company. Headed by Chris Iversen, this company specializes in managing real estate property. For example, when the Industrial Development Agency offers tax incentives, a development company owns the building, gets the tax break and passes the benefits on to the tenant in the form of reduced lease rates.

The name "Chrisanntha" came from blending the names of Chris Iversen with those of his two sisters, Ann and Martha.
